چکیده

Human activities in the Juwana Estuary impact increasing sedimentation, including industry, fish processing, ponds, and settlements. Increased sedimentation every year can lead to formation of new land. In long term, will shoreline changes due This study aims determine Total Suspended Solid (TSS) concentration values River Estuary. be indicated based on water turbidity TSS values—an effective method for observing coastline using remote sensing. Turbidity and Total Suspended Solid Concentration Dynamics in Streamflow from California Oak Woodland Watersheds

Resource agencies, private landowners, and citizen monitoring programs utilize turbidity (water clarity) measurements as a water quality indicator for total suspended solids (TSS – mass of solids per unit volume) and other constituents in streams and rivers. The dynamics and relationships between turbidity and TSS are functions of watershed-specific factors and temporal trends within storms and...

Narrow band based and broadband derived vegetation indices using Sentinel-2 Imagery to estimate vegetation biomass

Forest’s ecosystem is one of the most important carbon sink of the terrestrial ecosystem. Remote sensing technology provides robust techniques to estimate biomass and solve challenges in forest resource assessment. The present study explored the potential of Sentinel-2 bands to estimate biomass and comparatively analyzed of red-edge band based and broadband derived vegetation indices. Broadband...

Remote Sensing of Tidal Situation by Monitoring Changes in Suspended Sediment Concentration in Surface Waters

Collecting information on suspended sediments concentration (SSC) in coastal waters and estuaries is vital for proper management of coastal environments. Traditionally, SSC used to be measured by time consuming and costly point measurements. This method allows the accurate measurement of SSC only for a point in space and time. Remote sensing from air-borne and space-borne sensors have proved to...

Establishing the Relationship between Turbidity and Total Suspended Sediment Concentration

This laboratory work examines the relationship between turbidity (NTU) and total suspended sediment concentration (TSS, mg/L) for a Cecil Ap soil, a common Southeastern Piedmont soil type. We show a 1:1 correlation between NTU and TSS for the silt and clay fractions, but a smaller ratio for clay and bulk-soil samples. These results suggest that NTU measurements can be used to estimate sediment ...

Comparing the Capability of Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery in Land Use and Land Cover Mapping Using Pixel-based and Object-based Classification Methods

Introduction: Having accurate and up-to-date information on the status of land use and land cover change is a key point to protecting natural resources, sustainable agriculture management and urban development. Preparing the land cover and land use maps with traditional methods is usually time and cost consuming. Nowadays satellite imagery provides the possibility to prepare these maps in less ...
